15 Alaska playwrights make Last Frontier cut

A staging of "The Sunset Clause" by Fairbanks playwright Ann Hanley at 2007's Last Frontier Theatre Conference.

Coming from a recordbreaking pool of 270 submissions, just 62 plays were chosen, including operates by Anchorage playwrights Linda Billington, Ryan Buen, Rita A. Miraglia, P. Shane Mitchell, Mark Muro, Casey Prout and Mark Stoneburner.

The conference schedule remains in flux, but you'll find intends to highlight another Anchorage playwright: On June 16, Three Wise Moose will do Arlitia Jones' play "Sway Me Moon," which premiered in February at Out North.

I want to encourage every theater artist and patron to take part in this conference. I've rearranged my schedule for more than a dozen many years to ingest as much of it possible and still have didn't have it been below fantastic. It is my annual means of touching base with colleagues from out of state, visiting a week of shows, getting new ideas along with general recharging my artistic battery.
